Overview
The Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage Festival’s Central Park flagship venue – a NYS guideline compliant outdoor space* – is uniquely situated in a stunning location at Rumsey Playfield, 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue.
The venue underwent an extensive $6 million upgrade in 2019, transforming the space into a state of the art, seasonal concert facility. With a capacity of 5,000 under normal circumstances (2022 capacity will be determined by New York State guidelines) and a location right in the heart of New York’s Central Park, there are few comparable outdoor event experiences.

Rental Space at SummerStage in Central Park
Our venue, which is open from mid-May through early October each year, features VIP viewing areas; multiple private entertaining spaces; raised bleacher seating; and state-of-the-art production capabilities. The space is available for full-day or multi-day private rentals including corporate events, fashion shows, lifestyle events, concerts, galas and fundraisers, television and film shoots, private events and more. Hosting your event at SummerStage will give you the peace of mind of an outdoor space with a professional staff and the amenities you need.
The Terrace at Stage Right
Shared space features include:
- Direct, unobstructed views of the stage
- 60 graded seats protected from the rain plus two patios for viewing - one elevated above the entire crowd, the other at stage level for close-up viewing and dancing
- Complimentary backstage bar with deck for overflow and quiet conversation
- Access to air conditioned restrooms
- Wait service for concessions
Private event option:
- Elevated top patio can be rented out for private events for up to 50 guests (approx. 475 ft.). Special catering package with bar service available.
Member Lounge & Balcony
Shared space features include:
- Center view of the stage
- Upper level viewing balcony
- Shared, shaded and graded seating
- Complimentary bar with wait service for concessions
- Access to air conditioned restrooms
Private event option:
- Elevated top balcony can be rented out for private events for up to 90 guests standing (approx. 640 ft.). Special catering package with bar service available.
