ABOUT BAMCAFÉ
BAMcafé Pre-Show Dining and Concessions
BAMcafé’s approach to food is simple, local, and delicious. Led by Brooklyn’s first Michelin Starred Chef Saul Bolton, the café opens two hours before and during intermissions of most evening performances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music at the Harvey Theater and Opera House. The café’s offerings change seasonally and include varied light fare and a full bar.
All BAM members receive a 10% discount. Enjoy drink specials during Happy Hour on select evenings from 6 to 8 pm. For quick service, pre-order intermission or take-out food through Great Performances’ Out of Line system.
BAMcafé Live Series
Situated in BAM’s Lepercq Space in the Peter Jay Sharp Building, BAMCafé offers a place to enjoy a diverse mix of free live music and performances on select Friday and Saturday nights during BAMcafé Live performances. Started in 1999, BAMcafé Live has served as a career launchpad for many new artists and an intimate performance home for established artists. Open for bar service two hours before curtain call, attendees are encouraged to pair their performance with the café’s light fare and drinks.
Private Events at BAMcafé
With its eclectic beat aux-arts style, BAM is the perfect backdrop for any event. To inquire about hosting an event at BAM, contact a planner or email celebratefood@greatperformances.com.
First designed as a ballroom, then recast as a theater for groundbreaking work, the Lepercq Space took its current design in 1997 as BAM’s flexible public living room, a dazzling open-plan hall housing BAMcafé. Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates oversaw the renovation, preserving the spaciousness of the original ballroom with vaulted red arches lined with silver-tipped light bulbs. This dramatic space makes a stylish setting for receptions, meetings, and parties.
