Great Performances has over 40 years in social events catering and planning and we pride ourselves in making each event special. 

We don’t believe in cookiecutter events. Our team loves a challenge and we look forward to working with you to make your special event unforgettable. 



Great Performances provides full catering services, including all food, beverage and staffing services.

We are licensed to serve alcohol and, for venues where we do not hold a permanent liquor permit, we can apply for special event liquor permits as each event requires.

We can customize a beverage solution for your event, including water, juice and soda stations; juice and smoothie bars; coffee stations and bars; beer, wine and alcohol stations; and cocktail bars.

To help make your event even more special, we can create custom cocktails and mocktails to suit your tastes.

Lead time for events varies depending on a variety of considerations including location, venue, size and scope. For social events, we prefer at least two weeks’ notice, but we are able to accommodate more urgent requests.

When working with Great Performances, your event director and / or assistant event director will be onsite during your event. We oversee all the catering details including room set up, food preparation, and service staff, to ensure that everything meets your specifications.

For event logistics not related to catering, we do advise that you hire a day-of coordinator to oversee event details including guests and other vendors including the DJ and the photographer.

Safety has always been a priority at Great Performances. Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, we have enhanced our sanitation and safety protocols on top of our existing stringent Department of Health procedures. For details, click here.

In addition to catering, we can provide event management services. We also have an in-house design team who can provide custom event design including floral arrangements, tablescapes, custom service equipment and more at an additional fee.

We believe every guest, regardless of their dietary preferences, should have food choices that are innovative, delicious and exciting. For example, our vegetarian dishes, many of which are also vegan, exclue the most common allergens, making them an excellent option for a wide variety of guests. We also have partners that can help provide specialized meals including halal and kosher meals

Our planners will work with you to customize a menu specificially for your event. During the planning process, we’ll ask for information including number of guests, service style preferences, dietary preferences, taste preferences and more to create your menu.

Great Performances is able to accommodate a wide range of service styles. At all times, we observe the highest levels of sanitation and safety to ensure the health and well-being of our clients, guests and staff.

The four major ways to serve a meal are sit down, buffet, passed dishes, and family style and we are constantly coming up with new, innovative solutions to meet current needs.

We do not traditionally offer tasting sessions before signing a contract.

All of our proposals are customized for each client and event. Many factors play into the event, from venue and location to food style and service and our role is to create an event that suits your needs. For some of our social catering partner venues, we have created catering packages for specific event types.

Event costs vary depending a wide variety of factors including venue, service style, menu selections, staffing requirements, rental equipment needed and design requests. We work closely with our clients to meet their budget goals.

Our proposals will include food, beverage, staffing and equipment rental charges. Equipment rentals include furniture, plates and decorations and are delivered by a third party vendor who we manage on your behalf. Our event team can help guide rental selections to fit your theme and event.

No, we do not have a minimum or maximum guest count. We have managed events from 20 to 20,000 people.
