We are searching for a dynamic, hands-on manager with demonstrated experience in restaurants. We are looking for someone to join our leadership team and grow within the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations of the restaurant, assisting General Manager in forecasting, budgeting, and inventory while maximizing sales and revenue.
The ideal candidate has the ability to successfully coach, develop and discipline staff to ensure the guest experience meets the hospitality standards of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Selection, development and performance management of employees
Participate in on-going education for team members, including, daily pre-meal meetings
Managing staff in daily service and duties
Managing employee schedule, and time off
On Floor Management
Coordinate and manage the daily operation of the restaurant during scheduled service, including flow of service, and implementing creative solutions as needed
Resolving guest issues and concerns with a professional demeanor
Enforcing service standards as described in the Hospitality/Great Performances Employee Guides and CBA
Maintain an open, professional communication with back of house staff and partner with culinary management in leadership
Sell and execute group sales, and select special events and buyouts,
Assist with rental orders and special event ordering when needed
Accommodating special requests as per General Manager
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Minimum 2-3 years hospitality management experience.
Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Combination of practical experience and education
Knowledge of computers to fulfill management functions, including word and excel
Knowledge of Department of Health guidelines and standards
Self-disciplined and initiative; leadership ability; pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance;
Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet hospitality standards.
Must possess excellent communication and written skills
Food Handler's Certificate is a plus

The Brooklyn Museum is an art museum located in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. The museum is New York City's third largest in physical size and holds an art collection with roughly 1.5 million works.
Located near the Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Flatbush, and Park Slope neighborhoods of Brooklyn and founded in 1895, the Beaux-Arts building,
Significant areas of the collection include antiquities, specifically their collection of Egyptian antiquities spanning over 3,000 years. European, African, Oceanic, and Japanese art make for notable antiquities collections as well.
Great Performances began it partnership with Brooklyn Museum in 2015. We currently oversee the BKM Café, The Norm Restaurant, POP (seasonal food and beverage moments) and catering.
