Description
The perfect base for loads of icing and decorations!
Ingredients
- 2 1⁄4 c flour
- 1⁄4 t salt
- 2 sticks butter, at room temperature
- 1⁄2 c granulated sugar
- 3⁄4 c confectioners' sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 t vanilla extract
Instructions
Combine the butter, salt and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing between each addition. Add the vanilla.
Next, add the flour in two batches and mix until just combined. Chill for at least one hour wrapped in plastic wrap. Line two baking sheets with parchment and spray with cooking spray. Roll out the dough until 1/8 inch thich and cut into desired shapes. Chill the cut outs again for at least one hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake 12-15 minutes or until light golden brown.
