Claire Denis' shockingly gory, outré vampire film is an enigmatic mixture of sex and blood that graphically depicts carnal lust as a cannibalistic disease. Thousands of miles apart, two strangers—a French woman (a fantastically feral Dalle) and an American man (Gallo)—are each afflicted by a bizarre malady that renders them compulsive sex junkies who must feast upon the flesh and blood of their partners.
