John Carpenter's Vampires

Carpenter returns to horror form with this contemporary entry into vampire lore. After a group of vampires devours his family, Jack Crow (a deadpan Woods), a modern-day Van Helsing, makes it his mission to eradicate the world's bloodsuckers. When the First Vampire, Valek, massacres his band of vampire slayers in an act of vengeance, he joins his sidekick (Baldwin) and a bitten prostitute (Lee) to kill Valek before he can get his hands on an ancient artifact that will allow him to walk in daylight.
