“Dracula’s Soul Brother!” Baritone Marshall (aka The King of Cartoons on Pee Wee’s Playhouse) plays the titular Prince Mamualde in a brilliant performance which launches this horror hybrid from the director of Dr. Black, Mr. Hyde beyond blaxploitation camp and into the realms of bone-chilling melodrama. Following an inkblotted (and bloodclotted) animated title sequence, a vampire terrorizes 70s LA while falling in love with a dead ringer for his deceased princess (McGee), all set to a funky (and highly sought-after) soundtrack by Gene Page with songs by The Hues Corporation (“Rock The Boat”).
