What We Feed Our Pets
Recipes and Food
by GP Admin

Our obsession with food doesn't end with our clients. It extends to what our loved ones eat too, and that includes our pets. Below see a round up of GP team members' pets and their current food infatuations.

Chef Mike Deuel, Dog: Misha

What do you feed them regularly?

She loves her Blue Buffalo food, and she has a pet lobster (stuffed, of course).

What are the special snacks you give?

Random vegetables:  cabbage, arugula, carrots, celery..and a bit of pizza every once and a while.

Event Director Bethanne Lanteri, Dog: Eli

What do you feed them regularly? Wet or dry? Special diet food? A certain brand?

I cook for him (chicken or salmon) and mix it with his dry food. Next, I want to try raw food!

What are the special snacks you give?

Baby carrots and Trader Joe’s snacks: cheese sticks and any meat we are eating.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

Eli loves sushi and sashimi.

Have you ever made something special for them?

His birthday cakes.

CEO Liz Neumark, @3awesomefelines: Wendi, Little Cat, and Paka

What do you feed them regularly?

My cats are on a rigid healthy cat food diet.  No junk cat-food for these felines.  Hence, they are always hungry and looking for treats.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

Wendi loves pretzels and popcorn. Little Cat will hustle for turkey. Paka is a bottomless, insatiable monster and will devour salad dressing, avocados, challah, cookies, meat, fish, fowl, even veggies.  She had the roughest childhood (abandonment, hunger issues) hence her dietary resilience.

I try to impose some discipline on the snacking-treat thing, limiting it to an occasional piece of cooked chicken but sometimes they are really good beggars and I succumb to their persistence and charm.

Accounitng Manager Lisa DePasquale, Dog: Jack

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

Jack loves ice cream. He also likes grapes but we have to peel off the skin or he won’t eat them.

Event Director Carly Katz-Hackman, 2 Cats: First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt (aka Rosie) and Francine Delano Roosevelt (aka Frankie)

What do you feed them regularly? Wet or dry? Special diet food? A certain brand?

Wet ‘erryday with a little bit of dry sprinkled in. We use Wellness brand for both, but switch up the flavor. Yes, it’s more expensive than a lot of other options, BUT my philosophy is that the more you pay now in food, the less you pay later in vet bills. That, plus I want them to be around forever, since they’re my two favorite things on earth… don’t tell my husband.

What are the special snacks you give?

We receive a quarterly Kitnip Box, which has lots of fun treat options. And toys. These cats have more toys than most human children.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

Rosie LOVES eggs. She hears David cracking eggs against a bowl and comes running for the remnants. It’s gross, but we let her lick the mixing bowl clean before we wash it! And Frankie is partial to shredded cheese. She hears that bag opening and leaves a Frankie-sized hole in whatever stands between her and the pinch of cheddar, mozzarella, or whatever we’ll put in her dish.

Have you ever made something special for them?

Not food related, but we did make this amazing fort…

Human Resources Manager Cynthia Munoz, Cat: Moo Moo

What do you feed them regularly? Wet or dry? Special diet food? A certain brand?

In the morning she’ll have half a can of Wellness wet food mixed with some water. In the afternoon she’ll have Wellness Chicken & Rice dry food.

What are the special snacks you give?

She LOVES pieces of boiled chicken. She also gets Feline Greenies Hairball Control treats a few times a day.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

She actually has a weird list of things she doesn’t eat. She refuses to eat any type of canned food that’s not pâté. She also dislikes anything with fish or seafood. If I dare to give her any of those things, she’ll sniff at it, walk away, and go on a mini hunger strike.

Event Director, Megan Hughes, Cat: Teeny Bear

What do you feed them regularly? Wet or dry? Special diet food? A certain brand?

Iam’s 1-2 year old hairball formula, dry. She’s a little fluff ball so the hairball formula is a necessity. Sometimes I get her Weruva Cats in the Kitchen “Funk in the Trunk” wet food, chicken flavor in pumpkin consommé!

What are the special snacks you give?

Zuke’s Natural Purrz kitty treats. She will stand on her hind legs and snap them out of your hand.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

It’s not what she eats, but how she drinks. She pretty much only drinks out of a running faucet. Her favorite activity in the whole world is knocking over your full glass of water, or sticking her paw in it.

Vice President of Sales, Linda Abbey, Cat: Sadie

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

Sweet Butter…and a dry martini every now and then.

Assistant Event Director, Jessica Wincott, Dog: Brewster

What are the special snacks you give?

He gets a BarkBox every month with “fancy” treats.  One of my favorites they sent were truffle mac n’ cheese treats.

What is the weirdest thing they love to eat?

BEER!  As a puppy he came on vacation with us and was held in one had while the other hand was used for beer pong.  Ever since he seems to have a special attraction to it. Besides that, he also loves bananas!

Have you every made something special for them?

Froyo birthday cake!
