We got with our pastry chefs to put together a sweet treat you can give your circle of Valentines!
Makes 20 Pie Pops
Pie Pop Crusts
One package frozen ready to use, Pate Brisee (Pie Dough)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbl butter
2 apples, peeled and cut into 1/2" pieces
4 tbl cranberries
Melt sugar with butter in a saucepan, and add the cut apple and cranberries. Cook the compote until tender. Strain the juice and let it cool.
1 egg for eggwash
3 tbl sugar to sprinkle
12 popsicle sticks
Roll out the brise dough to 1/8" thin and using a 2" round or heart shape cutter cut out even amount of pieces. Place a popsicle stick on one of the cut out dough(make sure the end of the stick is in the center of the cut out) Brush the dough with a little bit of eggwash. Place 1 teaspoon full of fruit compote in the center. Place an other piece of cut out dough on the top and press the edges gently to seal your pie pop. Brush the top of pie pops with water and sprinkle it with sugar in the raw. Bake it at 350F until golden (10-15 minutes).
