Next month, we feature the annual Bergh Ball for ASPCA, one of Mr. Manners’ most coveted galas for the spring season. ‘Barking’ news: guests now can check in with their beloved four-legged companions.
THE PLAZA GOES TO THE DOGS WITH CLEO AND ITS NEW PAMPERED PET PROGRAM
New York, NY (April 20,
2016) – Over the course of its more
than 100-year history, The Plaza has hosted a number of furry, scaled and
feathered companions, including a lion cub, a bear, an ibis, alligators, and
Eloise’s turtle, Skipperdee, and dog, Weenie. Taking inspiration from Fairmont
Hotels & Resorts’ popular Canine Ambassadors, who serve guests in more than
a dozen properties across North America, The Plaza has introduced its own
Pampered Pet Program, and spokes-canine, Cleo.
Cleo, Managing Director George Cozonis’ Havanese, will be featured across the hotel’s social media channels as she showcases the services and amenities available to pets and their humans throughout The Plaza and around the neighborhood. Look on ThePlazaNY.com or on Instagram (@ThePlazaHotel) for Cleo’s tips on best walks, sophisticated dog wear and accessories, or the tastiest neighborhood snacks. Cleo will also make special appearances at the hotel each month. Guests are encouraged to tag social media posts with #ThePlazaPets.
Today, more than ever before, pets are part of the family, and we’re delighted to welcome them to The Plaza,” said George Cozonis, Managing Director. “As someone who travels regularly with my pet, hotels that offer a full range of amenities and conveniences always rise to the top of the list when I am making travel choices. Our pet program at The Plaza has been Cleo tested and approved.”
Long recognized as a pet friendly hotel, The Plaza now offers a collection of amenities for each pet guest, including a comfortable bed placed in the guestrooms, food and water bowls and all-natural treats upon arrival. Each pampered pet will also go home with his or her own Plaza-branded toy. The fee for guests to travel with their pet is an additional $75 for a stay of up to seven days, and $50 for subsequent weeks. The pet fee includes all of the amenities, as well as a $15 donation to the Association for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Dogs of all sizes may stay at The Plaza. Mr. Manners, AKA Rob Arango, is delighted at the future opportunity of Tessa and Stella check in for a weekend of pampering. Feline guests are also welcomed, and a selection of cat toys and treats are available as well. The Plaza is pleased to welcome service animals of all shapes and sizes, at no charge, at any time. A copy of the service animal’s certificate will be requested upon arrival.
In addition to an overnight stay, The Plaza Boutique will feature a collection of specially designed leashes, dog toys and amenities. Starting in the fall, The Plaza Pet collection will also be available online.
