The holiday season is upon us and before you know it your calendar will be full of holiday parties. If you’re looking for the perfect item to bring or make for your own get together, check out these holiday-themed cocktails carefully curated by Luis Antonio Thompson, the Director of Beverage Innovation at Great Performances.

Hot Ginger Spiced Cider

1 ½ oz Spiced Rum

½ oz Sweet Vermouth

¼ oz Ginger Liqueur

¼ oz Fresh Lemon Juice

4 oz Apple Cider


Simmer Cider and Fresh Lemon Juice over medium heat until brought to boil

Turn heat to low, add Rum, Vermouth, and Liqueur

Simmer another 5 minutes

Serve hot

Garnish with Lemon Slice

Pumpkin Spiced Gimlet

1 ½ oz Pumpkin Vodka

1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup

½ teaspoon Ground Cinnamon


Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice for 30 seconds

Strain into Martini Glass through fine mesh strainer

Garnish with Cinnamon Stick

Spiked Cold Chocolate

1 ½ oz Vodka

½ oz Dark Crème de Cacao

4 ½ oz Cold Brew

¾ oz Chocolate Syrup

½ oz Simple Syrup


Shake all ingredients on ice

Strain into pint glass with fresh ice

Sprinkle fresh chocolate shavings on top

Vermont Daiquiri

1 oz Coffee-infused Rum

1 oz Angostura Bitters

1 oz Maple Syrup

½ oz Fresh Lime Juice

Preparation: Infuse ½ cup fresh ground coffee in 1 liter White Rum

Shake, then refrigerate for 24 hours

Strain mixture twice through fine mesh sieve to eliminate coffee grounds

For cocktail: Combine Rum, Bitters, Maple Syrup, and Fresh Lime Juice in shaker with ice Shake, strain into double Rocks Glass with Fresh Ice. Garnish with Lime Wedge.

Holiday Berry Cocktail by CPS 

1 (2-inch) orange rind strip

1 tablespoon fresh cranberries*

1 teaspoon sugar

1 cup ice cubes

3 tablespoons gin

1 tablespoon fresh orange juice

1/4 cup tonic water.

Preparation: Muddle orange rind strip, fresh cranberries, and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes, gin, and fresh orange juice. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (about 30 seconds). Pour into an 8-oz. glass; top with tonic water. Serve immediately.

*Frozen cranberries, thawed, may be substituted
