Guide to Giving
by Liz Neumark

There is a feeling that starts to build with Thanksgiving, the overwhelming awareness of our blessings, reflected in the bounty on our tables, the joy of gathering within communities and the warmth of family and home. Our heightened sense of gratitude reinforces our commitment of giving to the organizations that work hard to help our neighbors in need.

Here are some of the organizations we enjoy supporting. They help strengthen the connection between people and food as we believe in feeding and nurturing people. Some have broader missions but recognize the connection between healthy eating and healthy lives. There are also extraordinary cultural and arts organizations, academic institutions, health/medical institutions, social services and nonprofits that are delivering invaluable services – and deserve support as well.
