What better place than The Plaza Hotel to host the premiere party for one of the newest, most highly anticipated films of the year, “an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one's life”? Walking through the spectacular Grand Ballroom reminds us of those concepts - the power of love and living passionately - and the space is even more compelling when filled with such amazing, inspirational people as Pierce Brosnan, Emilie de Ravin, Chris Cooper, and of course, heartthrob and superstar Robert Pattinson. Also attending the event was RPatts’ girlfriend, Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.
The movie premiere of Remember Me was at the Paris Theatre, conveniently located directly across from The Plaza. Needless to say, all of 58th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues was taken over by teen girls and paparazzi. The celebration really began, however, when the 500+ guests began filtering into the Grand Ballroom, where Chad Hudson Events had been gearing up all day with florals, DJ sound equipment, and furniture from Classic Party Rentals, as well as donations from BCakeNY Cakes and Juan Valdez coffees.
Along with our signature carving, pasta and dessert stations, waiters passed some delicious hors d’oeurves throughout the evening, such as vegetable frittata with hummus and black olive, potato boxes with grilled asparagus and cheddar, mini manchego cheese melts with oven cured tomatoes, and a crowd favorite: miniature burgers on soft cocktail rolls with bibb lettuce and cherry tomato.
The Grand Ballroom was set with bars, comfortable lounge furniture, and cocktail tables throughout the space, all lit by Bentley Meeker Lighting & Staging to create a cool, stylish ambiance. Rob had his own roped-off section highly guarded by security, but we’re sure he got to enjoy some nibbles along with a celebratory drink!
What does he look like in person? The same as on film: tall, tousled hair, and a look that stops the heart! He was low key, almost shy, and not completely at ease with being surrounded by screaming fans.
Pierce, Chris, and Emilie circulated in the Ballroom during the event. The crowd, warm and supportive, enjoyed every moment of this most memorable evening.
