On Thursday, January 28th we hosted the From Paris with Love premiere party at The Plaza. As guests entered through the 25’ caramel velvet drapes, the magic began. You could hear all throughout the lobby guests exclaiming oohs and ahhs as they saw the Palm Court and Terrace Room in full glow. The question is, was it the sparkling rooms or was it the high wattage celebrities?
From the glimpse of John Travolta, also known as Mr. Saturday Night Fever, to the stained glass ceiling of the Palm Court and the architectural details of the Terrace that were perfectly lit, everything was spectacular. Other celebrity sightings include: Kelly Preston, Ice-T, Hugh Jackman and Kathleen Turner.
It’s hard to wonder which was more beautiful: the crowd or the buffets. Guests devoured freshly prepared Trumpetti Pasta Bolognese and Penne a la Vodka accompanied by an Antipasto display that included Grilled Vegetables, Fresh Mozzarella, Sundried Tomatoes, Baby Artichokes, Broccoli Rabe and Caesar Salad. At a second station, guests enjoyed perfectly seared hand-carved Filet of Beef and Herb Roasted Chicken along with Crispy Shoestring Potatoes tossed with Sea Salt and Batter dipped Onion Rings. Warm chewy homey bite-size cookies, absolutely scrumptious, were the closing scene to this fabulous New York premiere.
