David Krumholtz and Vanessa Britting wed at The Plaza

To add to the long list of celebrity weddings at the Plaza were Numb3rs star David Krumholtz and actress Vanessa Britting on Saturday, May 24, 2010.  With a guest list including Joseph Gordon Levitt, James Franco, and Seth Rogan as a groomsman, this was quite the entertaining party!  The Bride & Groom began their big day taking pictures throughout the historic hotel and in Central Park. Guests were then invited to an untraditional ceremony in the Terrace Room, where the bride walked down the candlelite aisle to an accoustic version of  “Kiss the Girl”, from the Disney classic The Little Mermaid. Guests could literally feel the deep love in the room when the Bride & Groom read their self-written vows to each other.

The 175 guests then moved up to the Grand Ballroom for a night of endless celebration.  Vanessa’s father serenaded her with two songs that he sang with the Jimmie Vallie Band. David & Vanessa didn't want the night to end and their guests were having such a blast that they asked the 14 piece band to play three additional dance sets!

David & Vanessa, both originally from New York, desired a classic Manhattan wedding at the Plaza, though event planner Michelle Rago and her team made sure that it was far from ordinary.  Their chosen theme was a Midsummer Night’s Dream and the Grand Ballroom looked like fairy tale wonderland with bright pink and blue spring flowers, lots of greens, branches and butterflies.  David had expressed during the planing process that he and Vanessa wanted the wedding to emulate a "Renaissance Fair".  Rago's team truly made their vision come true!  Even the Bridesmaids bouquets had small butterflies attached to each one to highlight the whimsical theme.

The culinary aspect was also incredibly important to David & Vanessa. They both made sure that they set aside time in their busy schedules to attend the menu tasting.  Guests at the wedding dined on Oven-Roasted Branzini and Filet of Beef for the entree and a Peanut Butter Chocolate Torte for dessert.  An extraordinary wedding cake by Ron-Ben Israel was of course served after the traditional cutting of the cake by the Bride & Groom.

It certainly was magical to watch David & Vanessa delight in their Wedding Day after a year and half of planning. The Plaza staff enjoyed watching them so much and you could see smiles on each waiter and staff member's face!  With a collaborative team of such amazing vendors (Michelle Rago, Brian Dorsey Studios, Vali Entertainment), it was an incredible experience.

If all of Young Hollywood can celebrate like this, I hope more of them make the journey back east to get married at The Plaza and continue the tradition of celebrity Weddings!  Cheers to David & Vanessa and thank you for letting The Plaza play host to your amazing Wedding Day!
