For the moment, the tomatoes are looking good, though we are deeply concerned about the threat of blight. Two of our greenhouses are dedicated to a variety of tomatoes. It is a wonderful treat to enjoy their rich flavor. We know it is truly summer!

Karyn was cutting flowers for the Delmar Farmers Market, which is open every Saturday morning in Delmar, NY. We have established a loyal customer base who tell us our veggies are the best looking ones in the county! We love the compliment!

These onions are so beautiful, it moves us to tears! But they taste so sweet and deep and crisp. Both yellow and red onions are maturing. They are going into our lasagna, salsa, pasta sauce, soups and just plain grilled.

Bob is doing final installation of our in ground irrigation system. This contraption is a filtering system that removes the particles from the pond water before it flows into the smaller pipes and tubing in the field.

Every week these beans grow a little higher in the Sylvia Center kids' garden. The beans are delicious and every time we walk by, we pick a few to nibble on.

When it rains, it pours. This is how the sky looked Friday evening night before the storm. Pretty dramatic! But you know, thunder makes the cucumbers grow and grow they did.

My nephew, Yehuda, visiting from Israel, a country that takes its tomatoes very seriously. He gave our tomatoes the thumbs up - we are signing him up for a future internship.

Our flowers are so beautiful and add so much to the color in the fields. Take a look at our Flowers of Katchkie Farm post to see the range of flowers, both planted and wild.

Its that time of year when the rows start to fill out - tomato plants, tomatillo, cucumbers, squash, eggplant. I call it "growing lasagna"!

We call them teenagers - our latest group of chickens have matured enough to join the hen house. A few more months till they start producing eggs and we cant wait to see the colors. The range is from white to blue to green and shades in between.

The rain is making every corner of the farm look lush. The pond is high and the fields are green. Walk around and hear the birds, the frogs and the peacefulness.

It is Sunday, and time to pause. Farmer Bob, off the tractor for a moment, is hopefully relaxing. His kitty (this is Sputnick; Arugula is awol again) also find a peaceful moment.
