Linda Abbey - Vice President–Director of Sales

Growing with a company from its fledgling years to its maturity as a force in the industry offers a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth as well. Linda Abbey has taken that journey with us, and now leads our Sales and Marketing operations with the wisdom and delight of someone who knows the company inside and out. In the competitive and discerning environment of events and entertainment in New York City, Linda knows how attention to details and passion for the work lift an event from remarkable to extraordinary.

Starting out as an actor, Linda came to Great Performances in the same way as all of our staff - as a way to subsidize an artistic career while continuing to pursue her dreams. As time went on, Linda's involvement in Great Performances increased and she grew to love the catering and event planning industry as much as acting. She maintains her passion for the theater, but now concentrates completely on moving us into more markets and reaching for broader opportunities.

Her empathy for our work force inspires our staff with an intelligent, upbeat perspective toward the business that carries over into the outstanding service delivery that is our hallmark. Linda herself is inspired by the Arts to keep us innovating new experiences to offer our clients.

Linda is a strong team player that creates a climate of camaraderie as well as standards of quality that reflects our perfectionism. Rewarded by client loyalty and unwavering staff support, Linda's leadership is helping the company grow even further, opening new vistas for creative event planning. It's that creativity that continues to feed Linda's artistic soul. As sales increase, so does her vision for what Great Performances can do next to surprise and enchant our clients.

Recognized as one of the top event planners in the United States, Linda has produced events such as the Hackensack University Medical Center Galas, the Lincoln Center Songbook Gala at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, the Clinton Global Initiative Opening Night at MoMA and the 800th Anniversary Celebration of Cambridge University at Gotham Hall.

Frequently asked to speak at conferences and luncheons, Linda is always pleased to convey her sincere passion for the industry and demonstrate her unparalleled expertise. Linda also enjoys her role as a resource, guide, mentor, and teacher to our staff.
