Achieving ambitious corporate goals requires deep industry knowledge, steadfast strength of purpose, intuitive strategic vision, and of course, a knack for flawless execution. Dean has been directing Great Performances precisely this way since his promotion to President in 2003.
Throughout his career in hospitality, Dean has showcased his talents delivering consultation and operational guidance to a broad spectrum of hospitality venues. Among his positions of responsibility were Director of Special Events at Restaurant Associates where he oversaw services to various PGA Championships; Vice President of Operations for the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics and Para Olympics, as well as Director of Operations; and Vice President of Operations for the annual US Open Tennis Tournament in New York City. Dean also developed agreements with the NAS DAQ-100 Tennis Tournament in Florida, a contract with the Lincoln Center, and the recent agreement with The Plaza Hotel. In April 2009, Dean was named one of Crain's "Top 40 Under Forty" in recognition of his business expertise and leadership.
Dean mirrors the energetic and independent character of Great Performances. He is a creative thinker who thrives in his hands-on operational role. He fosters a strong teamwork atmosphere, and leads by example to inspire our staff to continually deliver excellence.
Like the rest of us at Great Performances, Dean is inspired by food and how it is interwoven into celebrations that connect people to each other. A proud family man, he delights in his children's accomplishments. Dean still enjoys the grandeur of a star-filled midnight sky, and cherishes a few dreams he continues to pursue.
